My story

Hello, I’m Madeline. I guessed you’d like to know who you’re dealing with!

So what’s my story? I’ve had various everyday jobs and I’ve also worked in senior management roles – in various businesses, jobs and countries. Like you perhaps, I’ve experienced a lot of change in my own working life. I’ve made big changes, taken time out for family responsibilities, been promoted, made redundant and ten years ago I set up my own business.

I’ve been coaching for more than ten years now – helping each person to get a more successful working life and rewarding career. I know what it’s like to want something better than you have right now. As well as enjoying one-to-one coaching, I’m a big user of digital and social media, which really has become an essential part of working life. I enjoy sharing my knowledge about ‘digital’ stuff in order to help my clients be better informed and feel more confident. I can help you get a really great professional profile online – as well as help you to use digital to find the work that you really want to do.

We can work together wherever you are, either face-to-face or by phone or Skype. Do get in touch for a chat if you’d like to find out more.

My style

If I were a book, I’d be very readable. My relaxed coaching style means that you’ll find me easy to talk to and you will feel really listened to.

I won’t judge you or measure you up against anyone else. I’ll simply value you for who you are. You get coaching and more – individual support between sessions too. I’ll also challenge your assumptions, simply because that can help you to see more opportunities and to do more than you imagined. My job is to help you think deeply about what’s important to you – and then to have you go out and get it!

My journey

After university I taught in Italy for a couple of years, then worked as a Learning Designer back in the UK, creating computer based learning for big companies. Working in technology, media and training, I made my way up from Project Manager to Principal Consultant and to Corporate Communications Manager for a plc. After a company acquisition, I was on the management team of a web-startup before moving into higher education. Then, after a year at University College London (UCL), I found my perfect job – leading a team of Learning Media specialists at the Open University (OU). I worked at the OU for seven years with my team, producing all the books, software, video and teaching materials for the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Family commitments brought me back to the Isle of Wight and I’m based there now, working with individuals, business and university people from all over the world. Sometimes on the phone or on video-call, sometimes writing and designing learning solutions. I often jump on the ferry, catch the train and fly out of Southampton Airport too. Find out what motivates me here.

My journey has been interesting and challenging. My purpose now is to help you to get what you want and need from your professional life. Oh, and I don’t do stuff that you can just google!

Never complete your education.

~ John Krumboltz, Professor of Education at Stanford University

Madeline was always there for me, always supportive, however tough things were.
